How to make tarragon vinegar
I have tons of tarragon that I am currently drying. It's a great spice that completes the spice rack and gives your dishes a special touch. You can also make a delicious vinegar in no time at all! It makes a great souvenir or Christmas present!
Ingridients
For a bottle like the one in the photo, you need:
- 250 ml/8.75 fl. oz. white wine vinegar
- 250 ml/8.75 fl. oz. white balsamic vinegar
- 5-6 stalks of tarragon, washed & patted dry
Instructions

Bring the vinegar to the boil and simmer briefly. Slide the twigs into a bottle and pour the hot vinegar over them. A funnel is helpful here. Leave to infuse for a few days. Then pour the vinegar into another bottle. During use, the stalks will eventually be exposed and could go moldy. Stored in a cool, dark place, the spicy extract will keep for around six months. Your next vinaigrette will have a particularly tasty flavour. Heavenly culinary delights!
