Description

Eggplant is a perennial, bushy semi-shrub that belongs to the nightshade family, which is sensitive to cold. The fruits are ripe when they are completely colored. There are many varieties with diverse colors (purple, yellow, red), shapes (elongated, club-shaped, round, oval) and sizes (up to 1 kg).

Origin:

East Asia

Growing tips

Eggplants should be grown in nutrient-rich soil in a sunny, warm location. To prevent the plants from bending, you can tie them up. As with tomatoes, side shoots should be removed by breaking them off directly at the base. From time to time it is worthwhile to remove part of the fruit attachments so that the remaining fruits ripen better.
