The field marigold is the wild sister of the well-known garden marigold. It is extremely rare in the wild (endangered species, may not be collected in the wild), grows in the Mediterranean region and also in the warmer regions of Central Europe, e.g. in vineyards. Its small flowers are very delicate and bright yellow in color. Its use as a medicinal plant is similar to that of Calendula officinalis
