Fragrant spice marigold that flowers for several months. The plant grows low (up to 40 cm) and branches out like a bush, the leaves are fern-like pinnate and exude an aromatic, fruity scent of mandarin oranges. The small, lemon-yellow flowers can be used to flavor desserts, fruit or drinks and in potpourris.

Sensitive to frost, therefore only cultivated here as an annual. Wind and rain resistant. Consistent moisture. Pre-cultivation from February at 20°C, but direct sowing from the end of April is also possible. Light germinator. Cut off withered flowers regularly. Propagate by seed. Wear gloves when cutting Tagetes. Some people are sensitive to the sap. Compatible with all vegetable plants. Tagetes contain nematodes, keep mice away and repel cabbage pests, viruses and whiteflies.
