Description

Spring onions, also called winter, winter hedge or spring onions, are a simple and undemanding culture. Both the small onions and the green leaves - called "Schlotten" - can be used. They go well with fresh salads and vegetable dishes.

Growing tips

On loose, slightly sandy soil spring onion feels particularly well. Waterlogging should be avoided at all costs. The location should also be sunny. Spring onions can be sown directly in the open as early as March, or they can be grown in advance and planted out in the open from April.
