A fast-growing leafy vegetable that can be grown along with lamb's lettuce. Tender, smooth, fleshy leaves form and can be made into a vitamin-rich, slightly acidic salad. Winter purslane is hardy, grows until early spring in a cold frame or small greenhouse The fresh, green parts of the plant taste great on buttered bread, in herb curd or in salad.
