Description

A fast-growing leafy vegetable that can be grown along with lamb's lettuce. Tender, smooth, fleshy leaves form and can be made into a vitamin-rich, slightly acidic salad. Winter purslane is hardy, grows until early spring in a cold frame or small greenhouse The fresh, green parts of the plant taste great on buttered bread, in herb curd or in salad.

By spring, be sure to harvest, because the plants quickly form seeds and then spread uncontrollably. Grows in any good garden soil, but does not tolerate waterlogging!
