Casablanca is a modern, white-skinned, early variety with good potential for show production. Casablanca produces a clean, smooth, white bulb with flat eyes and its cooking characteristics will make it popular with chefs as it is suitable for chipping, baking or boiling. A great choice for those growing in small gardens with planters, Casablanca is ideal for this use. An edible size can be reached within 62 days of planting. Casablanca is a good choice for container growing. It produces a medium-sized potato with white flesh, white skin and flat eyes.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Choose a suitable day between mid-March and mid-April that is dry and frost-free. If you are growing in beds, lightly rake the prepared soil into a workable layer. Then dig a trench about 10 cm deep and place the seed potatoes 30 cm apart. Make sure that the potatoes are placed with the pink end facing upwards. This is the end with the most sprouts. Once the potatoes are in the trench, cover them with soil and press them down lightly. A light layer of potato fertilizer can be applied to the top of the trench. Watering the trenches is not necessary at this stage, but may become necessary in the following months if the weather is warm and dry.
