Birgit variety is ocher to red-skinned with deep yellow flesh. Pleasantly strong taste. Robust. Withstands temporary drought well. Very good storage properties. Good as roast and baked potato. Early. Predominantly firm in cooking. (From Quedlinburger)

Keep frost-free. Soil temperature min. 7°C. At a height of 10 cm, mound at will to about 20 cm. (Damman cultivation outdoors). Pre-sprout from the beginning of March in a light, airy room at 12-15°C until about 3-4 cm long shoot tips appear.
