A runner bean with purple-marbled, roundish seeds in scarlet-white grained pods. The name of the bean comes from the grains, whose markings are reminiscent of lapwing eggs. This variety can be used young as green beans, later with half-ripe seeds for a vegetable soup, for example, or fully ripe as a dried bean.
