Old variety. Origin: Central/South America, ca. 1815. Forms small, black beans. Height of growth 40-50 cm. Mostly the seeds are used. Dry bean. Excellent taste. High yielding and easy to care for. For classic dishes such as soups, chilies and bean puree. Remain black even after cooking.

Bean 'Black Turtle' has a slight tendency to tendrils, but does not require stalks. Mound after germination. Can also be sown in clusters.
