Violet-blue, delicious, early ripening variety. Grows to a height of about 50 cm/19.7 in. Vigorous and high yielding. Pods are round, fleshy, tender, stringless, about 12-16 cm/4.7-6.3 in long. Kernels creamy-yellowish. Pods turn green during cooking. Pods must not be eaten raw! Sowing April to July from soil temperature of about 10°C/50°F when danger of frost is finally over. Bush beans thrive best in sandy loam or simply in a humus-rich soil. If possible, the soil should not dry out, as there could be a lack of oxygen under the crust in the soil, which the bush beans do not like. However, waterlogging should be avoided. They are heat-loving and do not tolerate frost. However, at temperatures above 30°C/86°F they bear less, because there the florets or pods could fall off. As a mixed culture, lettuce, radish, savory and endive are well suited, while rather unfavorable are: Onions, garlic, tomatoes, carrots, leeks, peas, fennel. Even if all this sounds like a lot, the bush beans are rather uncomplicated and grateful culture. And their own beans taste the best!
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Germination after 8-15 days at 15-20°C/59-68°F. Can be sown from 10°C/50°F. Less sensitive to cold than other varieties.
