I have a question: one of the eggplants has been hanging there for weeks and just won't turn purple; the one on top ended up there by accident later. Will it still turn purple?! Can I eat it even at this stage, or is it “still poisonous”? Since nightshade plants contain solanine. It should have been ripe a long time ago 🤔

Eher überreif! Reife bei Auberginen erkennt man daran, dass sie glänzend sind und etwas nachgeben (vermutlich so wie die Frucht links). Matt und stark nachgebend (mit bleibender Delle) heißt überreif! Unreif sind sie sehr hart und geben nicht nach.

Überreif würde ich ja noch verstehen wenn die vorher lila gewesen wäre, aber so, komisch 🤔
