#MyTomatoes Part 9 🍅 "#BEEFSTEAK" ...I've been growing this very large beefsteak tomato called "Beefsteak" under my tomato trellis for years! Despite its enormous fruits, which can weigh between 200 and 700 grams each, it stands out for its firm, juicy flesh. Because of its mild, aromatic flavor, it’s ideal for burgers, sandwiches, stuffing, or roasting. Since the fruits are very meaty and contain little water, they hold their shape well when cooked or grilled. The name “Beefsteak” comes from the fact that the slices are often large enough to cover an entire burger patty or steak. Culinary uses: perfect for thick slices on burgers, as the low core and juice content prevents the bread from getting soggy. It’s excellent for gratin dishes, stuffing (e.g., with ground meat or rice), or pan-frying to bring out roasted flavors! ...a vegan goes to a restaurant and orders a green spelt burger with beefsteak...😉
