I really wasn’t expecting that—a woodpecker must have been at work! It’s solid oak, rock-hard. Completely stripped bare. That’s probably due to the heat, too, and it’s still bone-dry here. The mini-pond has developed well for its first year. I’m already dreading having to shut it down for the winter. The last apples have been picked. The second apple tree has dropped almost all of its apples. This year’s winner is the white Winterkalvil, which delivered consistently.
