This year, I tried growing potatoes from seed for the first time, since the new garden bed wasn’t ready until the end of May and I didn’t have any more seed potatoes left. The seeds are of the “Laura” variety. I had collected the seeds two years ago when the potatoes had bloomed. I’ve now harvested two plants. The potatoes didn’t grow very large, but a few of them should still be suitable as seed potatoes for next year. I also harvested a few small onions. Unfortunately, I was too late with the onion sets, and with the weather we’ve had, they just wouldn’t grow. Can I just plant them back in the garden now in the fall, or should I just eat them? What’s growing like crazy this year are the carrots from the greenhouse. This one just wouldn’t come out of the ground and then, unfortunately, snapped off.
