Now, here are my questions for those of you who might know the answers: 1) Is this how spindly pod radishes are supposed to be? 2) Zombie corn. What’s wrong with it? What should I do? 3) When do you harvest okra? And some other observations. My first home-grown eggplant. It’s supposed to grow very long and very slender.

Okra erntet man, wenn die Schoten noch jung, zart und etwa 5-10 cm lang sind. Die Konsistenz sollte noch weich, nicht holzig, sein. Wenn sie länger als 12-15 cm sind und hart oder faserig wird (beim Biegen lässt sie sich nicht mehr durchbiegen), sind die Früchte überreif und schmecken nicht mehr. Wenn alle zwei Tage geerntet wird, produziert die Pflanze mehr. Im Schnitt erntet man Okra ca. 4-6 Tage nach der Blüte, wenn es sehr warm ist durchaus schon nach 3 Tagen. Schon nach weiteren 2-3 Tagen können sie holzig und ungenießbar werden.

Meine Okra sind aber grad so 5 cm aber fest, nix weich. Hmm... so oft komm ich ja gar nicht in Garten! :-D
