#MyTomatoes, Part 7 CUOR DI BUE ROSA...or ROSA OCHSENHERZ... ❤ ... during a vacation on Lake Maggiore, parked in our VW bus at the "Piccolo Paradiso" campground in the Maggia Valley—what feels like 100 years ago—I came across this variety at the market in Locarno!... ...and I’ve been growing it ever since... It stands out with its pink, thin skin and slightly watery flesh, making it perfect for Caprese, sugo, and tomato salad... its flavor has a sweet depth; in my opinion, it beats the much-hyped Berner Rose by a mile. It’s a vigorous grower and should always be trained as a two-stemmed plant... ...Fun Fact: When cut open, the fruits reveal a perfect heart shape ❤️, though there are also many fruits that are a bit misshapen and sometimes quite heavy... .. This delicious little heart is an absolute must-have in my tomato garden..
