... Yeah, I’m a self-confessed meat-eater! ...but honestly: I just can’t eat meat without some veggies or a side salad! ...and so, as I plan my Pentecost menu, I find myself wondering once again: who’s actually the star of the show on my plate? 🤔... It’s clear: ...and the Oscar goes to .......Kohlrabi! It was time to clear the bed; those cabbage-like tubers wouldn’t have survived any more heat unscathed! 🙄... I blanched the quarter-slices for 5 minutes until “al dente,” then tossed them in a bit of nut butter, sprinkled salt on top: done! A dream, this butter-tender vegetable 😋 In true #fromleaftoroot style, I turned the leaves into wonderfully crispy chips... 😋 Oh, and the roulades, braised in 50-year-old white wine from our own vineyard, and the Franconian dumplings, lovingly rolled by my better half, were pretty good too! 😉...

Kohlrabi Blätter Chips klingt ja spannend. Das muss ich mir merken, wenn’s bei uns soweit ist.

...@Kräuter__Anja, und sind so lecker! ...Blätter waschen, in Stücke schneiden, trockenschleudern, ganz leicht mit Öl beträufeln, Salz drüber streuen, mit den Händen so lange mischen, bis alles mit einem dünnen Ölfilm überzogen ist, dann locker auf Backbleche verteilen und bei 115° Umluft trocknen. Zwischendurch mal auflockern, solange im Ofen belassen bis alles rascheltrocken bzw. crunchy ist...
