I do get a little wistful when I'm taking photos, because the insects have become pretty scarce by now... But some are still around quite reliably, so I'm happy about these 😀: Photos 1 and 2: field bumblebees; for Photos 3 and 4, Obsidentify says it’s a stone bumblebee; I doubt that and think it’s a rock cuckoo bumblebee—let’s see if I can find a more reliable identifier on iNaturalist than the AI... Photo 5: a ground bumblebee. Photo 6: maybe also a ground bumblebee—a pretty worn-out specimen—but I’m not sure about this one either. Photo 7: a marbled tree bug, one of my few enemies; but since it was just basking in the sun and not sitting on my bell peppers, I let it stay. Photo 8: the common meadow bug again; now that I know where to find this beautiful, well-camouflaged bug—which is about 5 mm small—I spot it more easily. Photo 9: The equally tiny bark spider kept us company yesterday while we were having coffee on the patio, and a dove-tailed moth is still feeding on the lantana.
