Yesterday I tried out my telephoto lens again and took some pictures of the birds visiting our garden. I always read and hear that robins can become quite tame. The ones around here are always very shy, so I’m glad that this robin actually didn’t notice me for a while (Photos 1 and 2). Our male blackbird takes a bath regularly (Photo 3). For the past two years, we’ve had not only Eurasian tree sparrows in the garden, but also a large family of house sparrows. After eating at the feeder, some of them like to take a bath (Photos 4 and 5). In Photo 6, it looks as if the sparrow is gazing at its reflection in the water, doesn’t it?
Even shyer than the robin is the blackcap—always on high alert. The photo isn’t in focus because I could only take two before it flew away.
