Because i read, when the green outer shell pops, they are ripe and you should harvest and dry them.

Warum überhaupt trocknen? Wenn sie noch nicht trocken sind, kann man ist die braune Haut noch flexibel; man kann sie abziehen und das Fleisch ist noch saftig. Das ist eine Delikatesse für nur ganz kurze Zeit. Ähnlich wie Schälnüsse.
