This year I planted quite a few vegetables in #pots—lots of #tomatoes and #cucumbers as usual, but also some new treasures I’ve never grown before: - #physalis (absolutely amazing—nothing like those sour candies from the supermarket) - #Mexican mini cucumber - #apple cucumber - #beets - #broccoli sprouts. - #leafy greens Thanks to the sacrificial plants, no pests have gotten in so far—except on the broccoli sprouts, where I pick off eggs and caterpillars by hand every day (it’s kind of meditative...) In the #allotment, on the other hand, the yield has been relatively meager so far—it’s just too hot, and without a water connection, it’s also very dry. There, I mainly have winter vegetables like pointed cabbage and savoy cabbage, but also carrots and the zucchini, which just isn’t doing well at all. The herbs are blooming, the insects are happy, and that makes us happy too! The #garlic harvest, on the other hand, was really good this year! I peeled it, washed it, chopped it up, and froze it 😊
