#MyTomatoes Part 8 ...a few years ago, I was given a cocktail tomato that wasn't just good—no, it was better...😊 ...a classic case of “the name says it all”—after all, this little love apple is actually called “Besser” 😳 ...it’s most likely a historic South Baden variety from the Freiburg area that was already being grown before 1900. However, a fully documented breeding history doesn’t seem to have survived. It’s a hardy cocktail tomato from the Freiburg region. SC Freiburg may not (yet) be playing in the Champions League 😉, but this little flavor bomb certainly is! It produces up to 15 bright red cherry tomatoes, weighing about 15 to 30 grams each, on long clusters. The variety impresses with a very sweet, fruity flavor and ripens particularly early.
