Our ornamental willow got a pretty big crack in its trunk last year. I didn’t do anything about it, and I just discovered that the ants seem to have found the crack too 🧐 They’ve apparently built a nest in the opening and sealed it shut. Very interesting… I’ve never seen that before. A bonus for these survival experts: the ornamental willow has a few aphids that they can now “breed” to their heart’s content. Win-win for the ants, not so much for the plant 🙈🙈 I’m not sure yet if I’ll do anything about it… I’m thinking of releasing ladybug larvae 😊

Spannend!
