Water-saving sowing and watering
Sowing and watering - two gardening activities that actually sound so simple. But if you do it cleverly, you can save a lot of water and work! Find out here what you need to consider when watering and sowing.
This is important to note:
- Sow preferably after or during a rainy period or ensure sufficient and even watering
- Water generously every few days for the first two weeks after germination, then as little as possible to avoid drought stress and to ensure deep roots are formed
- Water only in the evening or early morning: In the midday heat, the water cannot be absorbed properly and evaporates
- it is better to water less frequently but more extensively
- Water additionally after short rain showers to ensure the soil is sufficiently moistened
