Onion fly
How to get rid of the onion fly
The onion fly lays its eggs in late April/early May next to amaryllis plants. The maggots eat their way into the bulbs and tubular leaves, damaging the plants to the point of death.
Treatment
A mixed culture with carrots will help as a preventative measure. In case of infestation, dust with rock flour or (algae) lime and spray once a week with tansy or wormwood broth.
