Today, taking photos was a challenge because of the wind, so I ended up with a lot of rejects. But since there were a few new visitors to the garden, I have to post the better shots anyway: Photo 1: I’ve seen this little meadow bird before, but never in my own garden 🤩. The large blue dragonfly always perches still; the gusts of wind only bothered me (Photo 2). The female thistle hawk received a very brief visit from a male today; I was only able to take this one quick photo before it was gone again (Photo 3). Photo 4 might show the goose thistle hoverfly—I’m still waiting for confirmation. If it is, I’ll be thrilled—it’s not very common! The skull-marked hoverfly can be seen in the next photo. In Photo 6: probably three striped stink bug siblings at different stages of development; in the following photos, each striped stink bug is shown individually.
