Who was out in the garden today? A sand bee and a forest fur bee on the catnip; there are lots of woolly bees on the woolly stonecrop—I caught these two red-handed 😮; it’s crazy over there at the poppies—the bumblebees are especially crazy about them in the morning, but lots of hoverflies are feasting on them too; for example, here’s the wasp hoverfly and a ground bumblebee; there’s also a lot going on at the bellflowers: here is a bellflower scissor bee; there are always quite a few swallowtails here; the small tortoiseshell also shows up again and again, as does the variable soft beetle.
