Marushka is a variety specialty with champagne-colored short carrots. Around the shoulders thick, becoming quite narrow towards the bottom. The color stands out clearly from other white varieties, going more into warm white, almost pale yellow. Very aromatic and tender when young as a baby carrot, still has an excellent, wonderfully spicy aroma when large. Development time approx. 120 days. Very good shelf life.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Sow sufficiently early and not too densely. Germination 14 to 28 days at 10 to 25 °C. To protect the carrots from carrot flies, plant in a windy place and / or cover with a net. Stagger sowing with an interval of about four weeks is possible. Bulbs nearby help keep carrot flies away. After carrot fly infestations, carrots should not be replanted in the bed for at least three years. Spaces between carrots can be planted with radishes. Dill and carrots are mutually beneficial. Basically low maintenance. If the heads of carrots stick out of the ground, they should be covered with soil, otherwise they will turn green at this point. Respond to strong fertilization with strong growth.
