Rothild forms very large, long (18-20cm) and tasty 'red giant' type carrots. Intense orange-red color and juicy flesh. Very robust and high yielding. Ideal variety for storage or freezing.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Prefers loose, nutritious soil, which should not be freshly fertilized with manure, and a place in a sunny, airy position. Sow directly on the spot from mid-February to early July. Cover seed only lightly. Sowing depth approx. 0.5-1cm. Germination somewhat uneven depending on temperature after about 14-24 days. Keep the seedbed moist for germination. Thin out if necessary. Harvest approx. 14-18 weeks after sowing. Use only undamaged carrots for storage.
