Carrots love loose soils that are not prone to siltation. In heavy soils better to grow on embankments. Since carrots take a long time to germinate (2-4weeks), we recommend mixing the seeds with radishes. This way the seed rows are marked and by harvesting the faster radishes you automatically thin out the carrots. Too densely sown carrots need to be thinned out.
