Black Nebula is the darkest carrot there is. It is therefore characterized by its dark purple color, which runs right through to the heart. Another special feature is that it does not lose its color during cooking like most other dark varieties. Black Nebula is also very healthy, as the high anthocyanin content contains antioxidants. This variety can be used in many ways, as raw food, dried, for cooking, in cakes or as juice, which is also purple. It stains very strongly! Gloves are advisable when grating or brushing. The taste is just as delicious as normal carrots, only much healthier.
Non hybrid
Frostproof
Carrots prefer deep, loose soil with a high humus content and a good supply of nutrients. Early and summer carrots should be sown as early as possible from mid-February, as germination takes up to 45 days at 5°C. The seedlings grow very slowly and need a lot of attention at the beginning so that they are not overgrown by weeds. It is a good idea to sow a row of radishes next to each row of carrots as marker seed. After germination, the seedlings should be thinned out.
