Cylindrical, rounded, smooth, orange-colored carrot. Sow regularly throughout the summer to obtain tasty carrots for salads and cooking. Italian variety.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Prefers a light location in well-fertilized soil. The roots seem to split in heavy soil. Sow from October to February in a greenhouse or in a cold frame under felt. Sow outdoors from March to July. Cover with felt to prevent carrot fly infestation. Plant the seed thinly, 13mm deep in rows 15cm apart. Cover the seed lightly and press down. Water the dry soil regularly, especially when roots have formed. Thin out to a distance of 2-5cm. Thin out the young plants regularly over several weeks. Later harvests produce larger turnips, which can be left in the soil but should be protected from frost with felt or straw.
