Slightly sweet is 'Syrian Violet', which is purple on the outside but white-yellowish on the inside and grows narrow. Its foliage is strikingly blue-green and hairy. It is not suitable for spring cultivation (risk of bolting due to cold stimulation). Its taste is earthy and spicy. Storage carrot. Biennial, hardy.
