The Early Nantes variety (sometimes equated with Nantes 2) is a fast-maturing variety that is perfect for early sowing. It develops 16cm long, cylindrical, blunt roots of deep red and orange. It is exceptionally sweet and therefore ideal for summer salads or with young potatoes.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
In an evenly humid climate (20-25°C), the first seedlings may appear after 2-4 weeks. If necessary, separate to a distance of 4 cm. Carrots are not very competitive when young, so grow them in areas with few weeds if possible. Sufficient watering. As soon as the heads of the carrots emerge from the soil, pile up the carrots so that they do not turn green. Harvest time: 70-80 days. Leave the carrots in the ground for as long as possible and harvest when the tips of the leaves turn yellow or red.
