Also called 'Longue Rouge Sang', is an early variety. The name 'Rouge Sang' means 'blood red' and describes very nicely the interesting bicolor old French carrot variety. The beets have a blood red intense coloration at the head with a uniform color gradient towards the root tip. This glows bright orange as does the inner flesh. The carrot variety has a pleasant sweet aroma and is very suitable for fresh consumption and as a vegetable. Harvest period: 120-130 days after sowing.
Non hybrid
Frostproof
Germination period 2-4 weeks at 10-18 ° C. Carrots are medium growers and do not tolerate fresh manure. Use only mature compost for fertilizing. Carrots want to be kept moist during the germination period and often need supplemental irrigation during the hot summer months on sandy soils. Weeding is essential when young, as the tender plantlets are quickly overgrown by weeds. For good results, the soil should be regularly loosened. Especially after heavy rain, when it tends to silt.
