Sow in finely loosened soil, directly in the open ground. Water regularly. Avoid areas with fresh organic fertilizer because of carrot fly. Once plants have 3 true leaves, thin to 5 cm and then to 8 cm. Against voles and carrot fly it helps to sow in the interrows onions, garlic or flowers such as marigolds or calendula (marigold).
