Sowing from March with subsequent sowings until the beginning of July. Sow thinly, water, cover with 2 cm of soil. Germination period 10-20 days at 5-20°C. Keep weed-free by frequent hoeing. After germination, separate to 4 cm spacing. Loosen soil well and water regularly. Cover with carrot netting from July against carrot fly infestation. Do not give fresh compost. Carrots like to be grown in mixed culture with onions. Culture films promote growth. Fleece inhibits pest infestation.
