'Vorgebirgstrauben' is an old and proven pickling cucumber variety. The cucumber plants develop numerous small fruits of 7-9 cm, which are pickled together with vinegar, spices, salt and herbs to sour gherkins or gherkins. Just as in the Spreewald, the small cucumbers can be pickled in varieties to make salt-dill gherkins, garlic gherkins or spicy gherkins. Mixed flowering.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Germination after 1-2 weeks from 10°C, but the optimum is 20-24°C. Need plenty of water (not too cold and preferably stale) and nutrients. Harvest first fruits early, promotes the formation of further fruits. A wind-protected location is advantageous.
