Description

The "Crystal Apple" cucumber variety looks unusual, it is small and round. The fruits are about the size of a tennis ball. The skin is light green. These cucumbers are paler like lemon cucumbers. Originally from New Zealand. It has delicious, tender, crispy and slightly sweet flesh. The cucumbers can be picked when they are the size of a golf ball or you can wait until they are the size of a tennis ball. It is a very vigorous plant that produces a very good harvest.

Non hybrid

Not frost resistant

Growing tips

As cucumbers are quite sensitive to the cold, you should only plant them out after the Ice Saints. They also need a lot of warmth during growth and a constant supply of water is also necessary. Stress conditions such as temperature fluctuations, lack of water or frequent touching lead to the formation of bitter substances. A cultivation break of 3-4 years should be observed. Cucumbers must be able to hold on, as they form long tendrils (2-4 m). Regular harvesting increases the yield as more new flowers are formed.
