Season Overview

Description

The Yala variety is a very high-yielding variety with 40-70 fruits per plant. The plants are robust and are suitable for outdoor and container cultivation (15L). Even at temperatures in the single-digit range outdoors, this bell pepper still produces great and many fruits. The small, blocky, yellow snack peppers are around 8-10 cm long and 3-4 cm wide. Quite early and abundant set, ripening from green to yellow. The fruits (even in the green stage) are incredibly sweet and very crunchy. Growth height approx. 60 cm.

Growing tips

You should grow peppers in nutrient-rich soil in a sunny location. For a rich harvest, the first flower (terminal bud/'king flower') should be broken off. This promotes flower and fruit formation on the side shoots. Pull the plants with 3-4 shoots and remove the remaining shoots. In Central Europe, cultivation is usually annual, but the highest yield is only achieved 2-3 years after planting. To achieve this, the plant must be overwintered indoors. The fruits are harvested from July to September, depending on the variety and weather conditions.
