Description

The gypsy baron, at least translated from Russian. The fruits are black and strongly shiny. They are as high as wide at the bottom, so perfectly symmetrical. Matures to a spectacular, extremely dark red color. Fruits can be eaten in the black stage as well as fully ripe. Black they are more on the "green side" flavor-wise, then fully ripe they are full-bodied, sweet and refreshing. Robust. High yielding. You can harvest at least two kilos per plant. (From seed-box.com).

Non hybrid

Not frost resistant

Growing tips

Cover the seeds only lightly with soil for germination, keep evenly moist but not wet and warm (min. 20°C, more likely 25°C). A bright location is also important. After germination, place slightly colder. Prick out as soon as 2-4 true leaves are present. Harden off before planting out. When the first fruits start to form, fertilize about 1 time a week. A consistent water supply is also important. The first flower can be broken out to encourage the formation of more fruit. Wind-protected locations are advantageous. Support shoots if necessary.
