Old German, high-yielding cultivar with plants up to 1.50 m high. Harvest and eat the 12 to 17 cm long cobs at milk maturity. The cobs are white-yellowish, very sweet and tasty when ripe for milk, but later turn squeaky red. Can also be used as ornamental maize.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Corn can be sown directly into the bed or grown as seedlings in pots. It is very sensitive to frost, i.e. it can only be sown or planted in the bed after the Ice Saints. Corn also loves sun and warmth, so look for a sunny spot in the garden. It is pollinated by the wind, which means you should cultivate several plants next to each other to guarantee optimal pollination. By mounding up soil around the stems, you increase the stability of the plants. This allows them to develop supporting roots with which they can hold on.
