Head cabbage is a native crop of the cruciferous family. It can be harvested late into the fall and is excellent for winter storage.

Growing tips

Cabbage prefers humus, calcareous, deep, somewhat heavy soil in a sunny location. Uniform watering and nutrient supply are important during growth. When planting seedlings, the soil should be moist and the seedlings should be well watered. A final harvest in winter is possible, as cabbage tolerates sub-zero temperatures. But to be on the safe side, you can still cover it with a fleece.
