Ginger thyme, also known as Thymus hybrid 'Ginger', is a special variety of thyme that is characterized by its distinctive ginger aroma. This variety has a tinglingly sharp and slightly pungent flavor that is particularly effective in cooking.
Non hybrid
Frostproof
Thyme also thrives in poor, sandy soil. It is a light germinator, so the seeds should not be covered with soil. It is worth starting seedlings in advance, as the seeds are very fine and are otherwise easily outcompeted in the bed.
