Description

Groninger is very productive and uncomplicated in cultivation. Its florets are large and densely filled with a subtle tart, slightly nutty flavor. After the first frosts, this becomes even more flavorful. Medium-late, very vigorous variety. Grows up to 120 cm tall and roots deeply in the soil. On the stem develops 30 to 50 large florets. Good also for freezing. Long harvest period.

Growing tips

Germination from 8°C, optimal at 20°C, after 10-14 days. The pre-cultivated plants should be planted until the first leaves. And Brussels sprouts should be grown in the same place only once every three years. In protection from birds and insect pests help crop protection nets. Mixed cropping is effective against many insect pests and soil fungi (ex. Brussels sprouts in the middle of potatoes: keeps cabbage whitefly and whitefly away). Harvest from the bottom up.
