This proven F1 hybrid will provide you with delicious fine vegetables for a particularly long time: you can harvest heads from the field from late summer until the onset of frost and then store them in a cool place until the end of March. 'Wirosa' is a cultivation-safe variety with gray-green very finely curled decorative umbel and large round heads. The stalk portion is particularly small, so there is little waste. Very good keeping quality in winter storage. Site requirements: Give cabbage plants a nutrient-rich, humus and water-retaining soil, as well as a sunny outdoor location. Savoy cabbage does especially well in heavy loamy soil. Tips: Under an insect screen, grow the plants in an organic way protected from ground fleas, aphids, caterpillars and cabbage flies. Pigeons , snails and hailstones also stay locked out. Cover the bed loosely with the mesh immediately after planting and secure the edges with hooks or soil. Since you can water and liquid fertilize through the mesh, the netting will stay on the crop until harvest. Delicious, crisp vegetables are the reward.
