Original wild tomato with cherry-sized, round and red fruits. Very hardy and undemanding. Requires enough space despite compact growth. Lush fruiting and high yield. Very tasty, fruity-sweet fruits. Grows to about 1.5-2 m/1.6-2.2 yd tall. Naturally resistant to late blight and other tomato diseases. For outdoor, but cultivation in containers and on the balcony is also possible.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
Germination after 8-14 days at 20-25°C/68-77°F. Do not cultivate tomatoes too warm after pricking out (at approx. 16-20°C/61-68°F), otherwise they may become yellow. Harden off before planting out. Side shoots do not need to be removed, as they also bear tomatoes. A prop and tying can be helpful, especially if grown in a pot, but are not necessarily needed. Generally needs less fertilizer and watering than cultivated tomatoes. The harvested fruits ripen after.
