The Ace 55 tomato was bred in the USA and is a robust, hardy and high-yielding bush tomato. The variety is resistant to Fusarium and Verticillium. The plants grow to a height of approx. 75 to 100 cm and do not need to be pruned. The round fruits are medium-sized (150-200g) and deep red, with a burst-resistant skin and low acidity. Their resistance to cutting and bursting makes this tomato an ideal salad tomato, but also for preserving for ketchup or canning. It is said to be a special, vitamin-rich variety. Hence the name. Vitamin A, C and E.
Non hybrid
Not frost resistant
You can grow Ace 55 tomatoes indoors, in a greenhouse or outdoors. The optimum germination temperature is between 18 and 24°C and germination takes place after 8 - 14 days. You can speed up germination by soaking the seeds overnight in a damp cloth. You should only plant out the pre-grown plants after the last frost.
