A popular lettuce that has been grown by gardeners for centuries. Maureen is an excellent variety of Little Gem with resistance to downy mildew, blight and Bremia BL. The plants mature quickly and are resistant to bolting. They form clean heads of bright green color with very sweet and tasty, crunchy leaves that form a densely filled heart.
Non hybrid
Frostproof
Sow the lettuce seeds directly outdoors from March to August in well-prepared, fertile, moist soil in sun or partial shade. Sow the seeds thinly at a depth of 1 cm in drills 30 cm apart in finely raked soil. When the seedlings are large enough, thin them out to a distance of 30 cm and cover them with a protective net or fleece to prevent attacks by birds and insects. Sow regularly to ensure a constant supply.
